Domo Arigato Photo of the Week!

This is another shot that Amanda took that we liked, but just not as much as the one that made the cut. Amanda fell asleep on the couch so I decided to go crazy with photoshop. The robot is freakin hard to pull off in a photo. A dance I've always wanted to master...these pictures are proof I need serious help. Ok, I'm going to practice. "Domo Ari!"

I've taken into consideration some of the feedback I've gotten on the site. Some subtle changes and one major change was made this evening. The site no longer pops up to full screen. It's funny because I views tons of photography websites daily...tons. I'm not joking. And I never really cared for the pop up full screen thing. I kinda liked it when I put the site up, but the more I clicked the more annoyed I got. I guess I was putting up with it because it seemed to be the trend. Wheeeeew full screen....pppffffffffffffffffft. No thanks! Now when you click on the main site or the blog link it stays in the same browser. Much better!

And finally and most importantly...it's our one year anniversary!!!! Amanda and I have known eachother for years, but today we celebrate one year together. Way fun! Expect some photo awesomeness this weekend!

Exciting News!!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon talking with Red Light Management trying to get some music featured on my website. Marty was a super cool guy and was extremely helpful. Yours truly now has permission to feature the one and only Graham Colton on my site!! "Best Days," his hit single is going to be our wedding song, and given the fact that this guy is all over major talk shows, playing major venues every where, and has a major record deal with Universal it's unreal he'll be featured on my site!! Now I just need to convince them to let me shoot his next CD cover! I was on cloud nine yesterday!

Amanda and I meet with our photographer tonight to sign a contract and set up a time to shoot our engagement session. The wedding is just around the corner now and we're both overly excited about it. It'll be nice to have our families and closest friends together for the most important day of our life. People will be coming from all over the country, awesome! We're getting married at an amazing vineyard North of OKC. We couldn't have picked a better spot! Look for save the dates in your mail box within the next couple weeks.

More tonight...

We did it!!!

We officially have a website. Tonight Amanda and I clicked on the "go live" button with bludomain. They should have our website on the web hopefully in the next day or so (cross your fingers!) We are super excited about! It has a ton of cool features so be sure to go and check it out. www.bryankannowski.com Crank up your volume and enjoy browsing through the galleries. I'd love to get some feedback from everyone so leave some comments on the blog as well! Amanda and I had a blast taking a picture for the "BRYAN" section of the page. Photo credit goes to Amanda. We're quite the colaboration!!

Like I said, give the site a day or so then definitely go and check it out!

It must be love!

Amanda and I were emptying out the dishwasher the other day and I happened to glance at this knife.

Straight out of the silverware rack...we're definitely meant to be!

More coming soon!

A couple more from Norman...

This caught my eye the second I stepped out of our car. Not sure why they are out there like this, but a pretty cool photo op for sure. Downtown Norman is filled with all kinds of perfect spots to take portraits. I can't wait to take one of you down there for a shoot!

This is the photo that got me in trouble. It looks pretty far away since I shot it wide angle. It's only about 30 ft going about 50 mph :) I had Amanda a littler nervous, but I'm typing this aren't I?

And completely off topic, but I stumbled across a shot from the top of Mt. Scott that was taken a few weeks ago. I had forgotten the photos I took were still on my camera. Whoops.

B inspired

I never really get out there and go shoot stuff just for me. Everyone seems to get caught up with their normal routines, especially me on the weekend. Working Mon-Fri doesn't leave a lot of free time during the week, and I seem to lounge around on the weekends not doing a whole lot. Amanda and I went downtown Norman today to get out of the house and take some photos just for the sake of shooting. It was a beautiful spring afternoon and we had a blast doing something we both love. Well for the most part fun. I got in trouble for sitting to close to a train track as a train was passing bye. I think I made her a little nervous.

Anyway, I'm going to be starting a new collection of photos. The theme will be locks. They're amazing really if you stop and think about it. They protect something important. Sometimes new sometimes old and rusty, and you can find them hanging near some really unique things. Here is my favorite shot of the day. I'll get some more up later on.

B inspired. Go out and do something you love even if it's once a week.

Photo of the week!

Or this will challenge me to stay up on things. It's not easy coming up with something remotely interesting on a daily basis, but I think I can handle weekly. I was really hoping to share some flooded homes with you. Oklahoma has been getting pounded with rain (along with other parts of the country down here) and on the news were some ridiculously flooded homes and streets. Not amusing by any means, but the PJ in me wanted to get some incredibly tragic shots of what was going on. Long story short by the time I knew this was going on we had run out of daylight so I have no photo evidence personally of this happening. If I hear there's still a big problem I'm definitely hopping in the car to check it out. Maybe you'll see some on the photo of the week next week.

In the mean time, you'll have to settle with this humongous stinky (hence the flies) buffalo that I got about 15 ft away from to grab this shot. There were signs posted all over to NOT do exactly what I did. Amanda was yelling frantically from the car for me to get back in. Another not so smart gentleman followed me out in the field. He asked if they were fast. I told him it didn't matter cause I was faster than he was :)

The hardest shoot of my life...

Amanda's cousin came to me wanting some family portraits done before her husband heads over seas to fight for us in Iraq. I was honored, but didn't know what I was getting into trying to keep up with a 2 yr old. The little guy couldn't be cuter, and couldn't be harder to photograph. We did some posed family shots and then sprung him loose on a playground to be himself. We managed to get some beautiful shots!

And a special thanks to her husband for fighting in what we believe in and keeping America free. You're a brave man. Thanks for all that you do! We miss you man. Stay safe!

A few I really like and forgot...

Sorry ya'll! I wasn't leaving our time together not posted on purpose. Trying to keep up with what's been posted and what's not, sorting through THOUSANDS of photos, and trying to give an accurate timeline of things have gone for me in the past isn't easy and I appologize!

Amanda

My beautiful bride to be!

And the best assistant I could ask for. If you ever book me for a portrait session Amanda will definitely be coming along. She takes care of all the lighting, gives me feedback, and helps come up with ideas. Over the past year she's been the subject of plenty of photos. Here are some of my favorites looking back.

The date!

Always stunning!

She shoots too!

There's only one thing it could be!
