amanda, karsyn, and i enjoyed our first christmas together!! and one day later karsyn was already turning four months old to ring in the new year! crazy!! they grow up so fast so we're soaking up and enjoying every second of it :) hope you all had an amazing holiday!!

a few days ago karsyn turned three months!! time is FLYING by to say the least and with amanda headed back to work full time things are even crazier around here! karsyn and i spent our first full night alone the other day and did some major bonding...at all hours of the night. she's changing so much every day! here she is at three months!! happy holidays!!

last night amanda and i joined a really amazing foundation, images for a cure, which is a group of photographers recognizing the importance of breast cancer awareness in search of a cure! photographers from around the world will be joining forces to donate session fees for one day in november to support further research.

we're taking it one step further.

we're doing it for the whole month of november!! that's right. every penny of every session fee booked for the month of november will be donated!! availability will go fast!! so if you'd like some amazing pictures of your loved ones, friends, or who ever, book your session for november as soon as possible!! it's going to help such an incredible cause!

karsyn started her modeling career at a mere 6 days old! the photographers she worked with said she was a natural and they expect her to have a long, successful run in the industry!

"she's the cutest thing i've ever seen!" said one of the photographers.

"she doesn't cry like most babies we work with." said another.

it's hard being this glamourous.

tonight i headed down the street with chloe and rachel to photograph them at the most amazing location, a local tree farm! chloe is the cutest thing ever and you know rachel from all the awesome hair and makeup artist jobs she's done for us in the past! after tricking some guard dogs on the property we found a perfect spot to hunker down and take some photos with out being eaten haha! more coming soon!!

tonight was absolutely incredible! amanda and i made our way to the north side of the city to meet up the nugent's for a quick little family session to celebrate the birth of their son (who's amazing) desmond!! it truly is a small world. i'm from a small northern michigan town, gaylord, and so are kristin and drew. in fact, around this time ten years ago, the three of us graduated together, and somehow we all migrated to oklahoma city. it's so awesome seeing people you haven't seen in ages!! and even more awesome to see them so happy, doing so well for themselves, and have the cutest, healthiest baby boy who was terrific as we photographed him!!

thanks for having us out guys!! we definitely need to make it happen again before ten more years pass by!! here's your sneak peek!!

Well folks this is Amanda! You will have to bear with me as this is my first post all by myself! A dear friend of mine from work is having a baby boy due...well like yesterday-literally! I volunteered Bryan, and myself of course, to shoot a maternity session for her as her baby shower gift...besides the baby shower I threw which turned out awesome in my opinion :) I'm getting more and more comfortable in my photography and editing skills so I decided for this session I would edit the pictures I took, the way I like, and make a blog post! Please leave me some comments to let me know what you think...be brutally honest! I really enjoy this as a hobby and would love to help B more once we both feel comfortable enough for this to be his actual job, so your comments mean the world to me, good or bad :)

So we met up with Nancy and Tyler, and of course little Tayton in Guthrie on the one day that week that was NOT tornado windy! I was really pleased with my pictures and know B's that he is working on are amazing. He has way more sessions to edit than I do...so here is my sneak peek of Nancy and Tyler's session. Enjoy!

i'm kind of sad about this post actually, but we're selling a couple items from our bag of goodies. our beloved d200 and our incredible 17-55 2.8 lens. we're shooting with d700 bodies now so as much as we love the d200 it's just not getting used. the same goes for the 17-55.

the 411:

d200 plus vertical battery grip - $700 plus shipping

info on the d200 can be found here. as you can see it retailed over $1500 in it's prime (no grip) and has a superb rating from consumers!! we're selling it with two new batteries and the vertical battery grip as you can see from the pictures below. i looked this thing over with a fine tooth comb and there's not the littlest of nicks or scratches on it. it's in MINT CONDITION (we baby our stuff!) there has been 20,568 pictures taken on it. shutters are tested to last over 100,000 pictures so this thing is barely broken in.

this camera is the foundation of my photography career. i've been the sole owner and have taken amazing care of this thing and it's never let me down in return. most of the pictures you guys love so much were shot with this camera, so it's going to be tough for me to let go. we'd love to sell it to someone who will cherish it as much as we do.

nikkor 17-55 f/2.8 af-s dx (usa version) - $1000 plus shipping

info on the 17-55 can be found here. this lens is still selling for over $1300 new with no filter. WE LOVE THIS LENS, but it doesn't support the full frame sensor our d700's use which makes me incredibly sad. before switching camera bodies this thing was literally glued to the d200. i shot all my weddings with it, portrait sessions, and landscape work with this lens. it rates fifth all time for nikon lenses which is epic. just like the camera body it's in 100% MINT CONDITION. the glass itself has never been exposed. it's always been covered with a filter from the second i took it out of the box the first time. again, we'd love to see this lens go to someone who will absolutely love it to death (which would pretty much be impossible not to.)

this afternoon i met up with the stubblefield's for some family fun in the park!! it was fall at it's best. leaves had changed colors and were falling as we shot, the sun was out, and the temperature couldn't have been more perfect. jennifer and chase, you guys are the sweetest people on the whole planet!! i had some much fun photographing jordan's big baby blues and chasing stewie around the park haha!! i hope we get to do it again soon!!

amanda doesn't get jealous very often, but when i got the call from andrea and todd that it was time to shoot molly and luke's 18 month old pictures tears streamed when she found out she had to work. if you don't remember their story, amanda was molly and luke's primary care in NICU for the first months of their lives. we've gotten to see them grow from less than two pound preemies into the healthiest, cutest, and lovable 18 month olds on the planet. we love the mays family so much and are so blessed to be such a big part of their lives. a HUGE thanks to andrea and todd for letting us enjoy such special times with you guys!!

amanda and i had sooooooooooo much fun shooting kimberly's senior pictures!! this was our other senior session we shot while in michigan for kelly and al's wedding. we're told kimberly was pretty nervous on the way out to our location we'd picked out for her, but after showing her some shots that were magazine worthy she must have settled in because she was incredible in front of the camera!! kimberly, if you ever want to be in front of the lens again...DEFINITELY CALL US :) we could photograph you all day!! we hope you have an amazing senior year!! keep in touch.

we're going to try and get better at showing you more behind the scenes of what it looks like to be on location at one of our shoots. typically you see "the stance" from me

amanda shooting more of the wide angle shots (i tried catching her in action but she always moves out of the way real fast thinking i'm trying to grab a shot she'll be standing in...which i guess is true although i want her in the picture also haha!!)

there's always a ton of joking, laughing, messing around, and "posing 101" done by myself which i get made fun of by every family we work with once i put my vogue on. maybe you'll get lucky and amanda can catch me in action next time.

we're off to tulsa tomorrow for a much needed date night and a killer bridal session wednesday with jill!! can't wait!!

we had an amazing time with kayla and her family while we were in michigan shooting her senior pictures!! kayla is an absolute blast to be around which made photographing her a breeze!! she gave us the "you want me to do what??" look a few times, but when we showed her some shots on the back of the cameras she grinned ear to ear and was down for anything. the coolest part of her session was that we only booked two senior shoots the week we were there, so we were able to offer her something completely different from everyone else in her class!!

i had soooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun shooting taylor's senior session downtown okc a couple of weeks ago!! amanda wasn't available so i was flyin solo on this one, but we still managed to have the greatest time ever!! taylor is a plethra of talent and radiates fun at all times which makes everyone around her constantly smile!!

i have to say that i'm probably a little partial being that i'm from there, but michigan is very understated. it's absolutely breath-taking. if you haven't seen the "pure michigan" commercials i highly encourage you to do so. we flew up there for work but managed to sneak in some "us" time as well. here are a few images from our trip.

we waited outside the keebler elves house for cookies, but they never came. we bought fudge downtown instead...

we saw all kinds of wildlife, including lots of deer :) there's a fawn hiding behind his momma in this one. gotta love fawn spots!

and we took a drive along 20 miles of some of the most beautiful highway our country has to offer. a complete canopy of trees along the lake michigan coastline.

the small version of this picture doesn't do it justice at all. this will make an amazing canvas!!

today we met up with rock star photographer abigail smith for an afternoon session of awesomeness and i don't think we could have had any more fun!! the fabulous rachel hart did hair and makeup as always (and even stayed around to shoot a little!) and we had two incredible models in riki and dianne that produced one amazing photo after another!! it seriously couldn't have been any better!! here's a little sneakeroo for you. much much more to come!!

a ghost what??

about a month ago amanda and i had been told about a small town north east of oklahoma city that had been settled back when oklahoma first became a state. a few people we talked to about it called it a "ghost town!" this we gotta see!! i did some research and found it on a map. literally in the middle of no where and supposedly a 20 person population...i began to get more and more excited. i even decided we'd incorporate it into our shoot next week and went ahead and made the coolest "treasure map" you've ever laid eyes on.

fallis, ok. FAIL.

we drove down windy one lane dirt roads with no names, crossed the sketchiest bridge known to man...seriously. this thing crossed a river about 50ft up and was hardly foot traffic safe. i'm honestly shocked we made it across safely once let alone twice. nails pushed out of every board, it had huge gaps, made loud noises, and swayed from just me walking on it.

a ghost town? if you consider one building, two trailers, and three houses a ghost town...

a cool place for a portrait session? probably. worth the hour drive? nope. shooting there next week? nope.

amanda and i laughed all the way there and back. it was a great day for an adventure and no matter what situation you put us in we always have a great time! we pulled over a couple times so i could grab a couple pictures. you've probably noticed i love trees!

and we stopped at "pops" for dinner where i was very very bad.

first pop in over 4 months. and of the 1000+ bottled selection, we strangely ended up with the same brand. p90x went out the window once i got a hold of a double decker burger, fries, and a double fudge shake. i know.

amanda grabbed this of me while we were waiting for our food. no photoshop trickery here folks. those are my real pearly whites :D

i know some of you were as excited about the town as we were prior to seeing it. that said, don't waste your gas. as for the shoot next wednesday...it's going to be AMAZING!!

i'm totally throwing myself under the bus here. up until about a year and a half ago i always stayed in tip top shape. i played every sport imaginable, ran, lifted weights, and used a little help along the way. i started taking a product called 'no-xplode' to be able to maintain the lifestyle i'd been living. 50+ hour work weeks, 8-10 mile runs and an hour on the weights daily, all while only getting about 4 hours of sleep a night. it just couldn't be done. i began waking up in the middle of the night with heart rates in the 180's. yeah. not good. multiple trips to the ER only to be told i'm healthy as a horse and there's definitely nothing wrong with me, so i got scared. i'll admit it. i took a break and started to focus on other areas of my life. exercising and eating right were replaced by other things (not complaining) and has led me to this.

p90x. you've all heard about it. you've seen the infomercials. you've probably even searched the internet for results wondering for yourself if it really works. maybe you know somebody who's done it? maybe you don't? and if you did, did they stick to it? did you see the results?

i told my wife i'd be throwing myself under the bus because i knew once i did you'd all be stopping back for updates, so this was going to make me commit. and by commit i mean 100% commitment. i'll be updating this EVERY TWO WEEKS so you guys can see the results and so i can hold myself accountable. none of the photos will include any kind of tom foolery photoshop magic other than sizing and sharpening for the web.

yesterday, amanda and i met up with angie and her two totally adorable girls aubrey and cameron. we got tons of amazing photos of the girls doing their thing at 'will rogers memorial park' in okc. i can't wait to share them with you!! here's a sneak peek to hold you over ;)

aubrey is quite the little poser and had a blast being in front of the camera. i love love love love love love (like the song) this shot!! i wish i were five and carefree again!! we may talk to ang to see if we can borrow her again for an afternoon and shoot some promo stuff with her!

man oh man...tonight's been BLOGTACULAR!! so much to share with you all and this is still the beginning. hannah is another one of our senior reps (west moore) we shot a week or so ago. we had a riot. i gave her my infamous modeling 101 which is always worth a laugh. i'm glad she didn't use any of the instilled knowledge. she did her thing and amanda and i rocked out a killer session!! prepare to have your eyeballs screamin.

you may remember seeing some pictures we shot for the band "anderson." they're a husband and wife christian rock band based out of oklahoma city, and let me be clear on something...these two can flat out sing!! the name of their album is called Return.

here's how the final product turned out :)

a couple of weeks ago amanda, kelsey, travis, kay, and myself packed up the cars and headed south west of oklahoma city to go shoot some senior portraits. it was a day filled with laughter, great converstaion, good food, crazy wildlife, and most importantly new friendships. these kids are truly special (twins) and mean a lot to the both of us. their mom, kay is an absolute sweet heart. we loved having her there with us too! a huge thanks to the three of them for battling the elements with us. we saw it all. gusts of wind and rain to sunshine.

we've been blessed lately shooting a ton of really amazing sessions and this one is no exception! i was a little taken back when matt's mom first called me to shoot these because we don't get a chance to shoot men very often. i'll be honest. i didn't really have a game plan. that seemed to have worked out for the best because this session was crazy awesome!! matthew is a natural in front of the camera and one of the nicest kids you'll ever meet. best of luck on all you do man!!

okay okay. not brown. but we did spend thursday with so many amazing friends!! the day started with my very favorite mua rachel hart at the house working her magic on my already stunning wife, so we could head downtown okc with one our favorite local photographers benita cloward. our website and blog are overdue for some updated pictures and "be" was the perfect fit for the job! we had a blast and are super excited to see the photos from the session!! and it ended with dinner and the great company of candi and mckinney of candi coffman photography. you may recognize them because they are the extremely talented couple that shot our engagement and wedding photos!

like always i had my camera with me and wanted some shots of me in action. the camera was in my hand, amanda looked INCREDIBLE, so i couldn't resist firing off a couple frames of my own.

One month is waaaaaaaaaaaay to long to go without blogging...especially since I told myself how good I was going to do this year. Now that the chaos is finally over (for now) I'm getting back into the swing of things full fledged and will be updating this blog all the time!

That said we shot "the twins" one year bday party last month. We're so lucky to have friends like Andrea and Todd and are so thankful we get to share these special occasions with them!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It is our first Valentine's as a married couple and I couldn't be happier! We spent our evening playing "Guess Who?" and "Mancala" which may sound boring to some, but was perfect for us. I hate getting out with the "Valentine's crowds" and I think we are planning on having a nice evening together in a few days at our favorite restaurant, Charleston's. Tomorrow, the cutest twins in the world turn the big 1...that's right, those little 2 pound babies I remember taking care of in the NICU are now 20 pound one year olds. It's absolutely amazing! We got them all kinds of neat-o stuff that you all will see soon because of course we will be there taking pictures of the big event. Matthew Aaron was born January 21st and we're so excited that he's finally here!! Amanda and I headed down to Dallas today to see my brother Aaron and sister in law Kellie's extremely handsome little man. He's going to be a stud muffin like his uncle for sure. We spent the day cuddling him while he napped and of course we had to grab a couple of photos while we were there. There is plenty to share, but morning is coming quick so I'll get the rest up over the next couple days. He's definitely cute, there's no doubt about that!!

And follow through!! 2009 is going to be a huge year for us, and instead of making new years resolutions I'm unwilling to stick to, this year is all about discipline and making dreams a reality.

Makin it happen in '09

1. Keep doing whatever it takes to make my wife smile. I love her more than words can say and it's such a great feeling knowing how happy I make her. There isn't another person in this world more perfect than her. And hopefully '09 will bring us a little K.

2. Continue maintaining close relationships with the people who care about me the most. Family and friends mean everything to me. I think I do a pretty good job of letting them know that, but some of you have started to become more distant than I'd like. I'm reeling you back in for '09.

3. By 2010 Photography by Bryan Kannowski will be a full time job. I really want to be shooting full time and devoting 110% to our business...and only our business. Each and every one of you have more of an impact on this than you know. Spread the word and help make this dream come true!

4. Take more photos. Not just for work, but for me. I miss shooting just because. Be prepared to see TONS of photos!

5. Getting back in shape. I know this is one for everyone EVERY year, but I'm normally really really good at this one. I was doing AMAZING at eating right, and working out until I hit some pretty scary health problems. Hopefully that's in the past cause I'm determined to get back to GQ status.

Reach out and take what you want from life. 2008 came and went faster than we know. 2009 is here. What will you do? Sky's the limit.

Hey everyone! Thanks for being patient with us lately. I've been quite under the weather as of late fighting dizzy spells and lack of focus. It's really taking a toll on my always busy life style since I've been able to do nothing but lay low. Two recent trips to the Dr's, blood work and eye exams find nothing. Tomorrow we go see a neurologist to hopefully rule out something serious and get myself back on the right track.

On a more positive note we have lots to blog about! A just because session with the Kerl's, the cutest Christmas pictures anyone has ever seen, a possible sneek peek from Katie and Kelly's wedding last night, and a few photos of and with some early Christmas presents Amanda and I exchanged on Friday (I know I know...but there was a reason!)

I also wanted to share this pretty awesome video with you. I'm by no means one of those people that try to push things on people, but I do love seeing things from a different prospective. Things like this make me stop and think what kind of impact each and every one of has on the world if we could only work together. Here's the video. Definitely worth 3 minutes of your time.

The super sweet and talented Averi Blackmon called me up a few weeks ago to help capture Kellie and Josh's incredible day. When she told me it was going to be held at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum I did cartwheels.
